Dave Saunders took part in the West Wight 3 Hills 8 mile MT race on Easter Monday.

In his words “It was an undulating, hilly and very scenic course with approx 900 feet of ascent and described as ‘not one for the faint-hearted'. With gale force winds overnight (105 mph at the Needles) it was touch and go whether the race took place at all and the IOW ferries were initially suspended in the morning. Still, most of the would-be competitors made it to the start line and we set off on time at midday. It was hard going but I managed to finish in 57th place overall in a time of 1:07:39 and received a magnificent trophy for 1st MV60.”

5 March saw Julian and Sue Peachy “enjoying” themselves by completing the Devil Mud Run. The 8-kilometre event is held at Stanley Pontlarge near Cheltenham and boasts more than 31 obstacles to negotiate, plus plenty of mud and water.
