Dan Anderson continued his short and sharp off road season with the Cranham Boundary Chase, a relatively short 3.9 miles, but testing nevertheless.

Andrew Truswell was disappointed with his Ultra, the Plague RAT (100 km), St Austell, Cornwall. He finished in 16:02:15, 33rd of 82 finishers, but an hour an a half slower than last year. Alice Smith completed the Adrenaline Rush Event, a 10 K obstacle course in Bristol in 2 h, raising money for the Longfield Hospice in Stroud.

Dan Anderson ran the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 18 July. The hilly takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order; it covers 6.7 miles, and incorporates 1,921ft of ascent. The challenge is to finish within 12 h – Dan was well within this (confirmed time TBC), placing 11th overall.

Wearing his Dursley Running Club vest for only the second occasion, new member Neil Hodgson competed in the Race the Train in Tywyn mid Wales on Saturday 15 August, a 14-mile ‘undulating’ off road and multiterrain trail run.

Thursday the 9 July saw the Thornbury RC Summer 10K take place. A warm and clear sunny evening bolstered the field to over 200. Among them were four Dursley runners in the guise of Nigel Sankey, Joe Browning, Kevin Jackson and Holly Gardner.
