Kate Browning was in the Lake District on 7 June to run the Scafell Pike Trail Marathon. According to the organisers ‘Borrowdale is described as "The most beautiful valley in England" and a trail runners dream. Combine this with a route over Scafell Pike and you have a truly spectacular course.’ The 42 km course is over tough mountain trails and runners need the ability to navigate the route. Kate made it to Scafell Pike in just less than 3 h, completing the course in 06:18:06 and placing 70th and 5th FV40, with a few a few bumps and scrapes for good measure. She followed this up a week later completing the Langport Marathon, part of the Langport International walking festival.
