Rebecca Topham completed the Bath Olympic triathalon on the 11th of July one of 134 competitors.

Fred Yeasrley and Ray Williams entered the 2.4mile (3.8k) ironman swim
It was Fred's 1st time at this distance and was hoping for a sub 1hr 30mins, he continued his development as a Tri-athelete with a great time of 1hr 28 min 25sec
Ray Williams  was after a better time than his Lanzarote ironman swim & transfered his good running form  into the water managing to knock of 4mins 02sec coming in in 1hr 07min 55secs
Jessica Woodisse was 1st lady with a great time of 53mins 50secs & was 2nd over all
Jessica 2nd
Ray came 26th and Fred 47th out of a a total of 53 swimmers who swam the full ironman swim distance

Ray Williams,Rob Woodward, and Andy Kilby, took on the challenge of the Lanzarote Ironman, for most of us standing for 15 hours is tiring enough! to complete a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle ride and finish with a 26 mile marathon is a breathtaking acheivement.

It alll started at 7 in the morning when our trio leapt into the Atlantic, whist the training at Dursley Pool put them in good stead, just keeping their heads above water in the melee of the start was a bonus. Rob came out of the water first in 1 hour 11 minutes closely followed by Ray and Andy.

Ray managed to build a 30 minute lead on Rob over the bike section, battling against a fierce wind and a lack of coca cola at one refueling station, Andy was a further 30 minutes behind.

The marathon was a gruelling finish, the cool evening air makiing it slightly more bearable. Ray finished in a fantastic 13 and a half hours, with Andy digging deep to catch Rob, both crossing the line in 15 Hours.

After a well earned rest next stop for the intrepid three is Cotswold Water park for a duathaon, a walk in the park in comparison!

Welcome to the Dursley Dozen Results Page.

The Current Record Holders are:

Sean Taylor      Pont-y-pool & District Runners   01:21:20

Maddie Horton  Tamar Trotters                          01:28:54

Both these records were set in 2012 when a new course was run taking the runners off the road from the Golf Course and introducing more varied off road terrain. Conditions in 2012 were frosty so  runners benefited from hard ground, 2013 times reflect a much more challening event.

The previous record holders on the former course were:

Graham Patten City of Bath AC 70.42 set in 1992

Cathy Bourke Cirencester AC 84.37 set in 1993

Since 2012 the race has used chip timing courtesy of DB Max:
