Richard Pitts took part in the Shopshire standard triathlon, a qualifying race for next year’s ETU European Triathlon Championships at Kitzbuhl, Austria.

He started off with a strong swim, and then rode well over the sporting 25 mile course, averaging just under 22 mph. Richard was a little off his normal pace in the run, describing it as “hot and lumpy”, completing it in 44:43 to finish in an overall time of 02:21:09 to place 107th overall and 15th in his category. He was just short of his performance at the Deva Triathlon in 2015 and faster than his performance at the Worlds in Chicago, just proving the benefits of structured training – check out his strava!
