Three Dursley athletes travelled to the Bristol-Tri to compete in the Olympic distance. Mark Waller led the club home in 84th place overall. Rebecca Topham was 4th and Laura Price 8th in the female V40 category with Price showing much greater consistency over the three disciplines.
Rebecca struggled with the obstacles in the swim, head butting a wall and a buoy on her way round (apparently it was quite murky). Mark Waller used his broad shoulders to pull himself out of the water first for the club with Laura only losing a minute on him (efficiency of stroke, a factor perhaps) with a slightly concussed Rebecca out thrid. Laura yet again struggled in the wet suit area, perhaps not heeding Ray's advice about baby oil (but then again who would!). Mark continued to pull away on the bike ride, with all three riding well. Mark and Rebecca finished strongly on the run. Laura showing greater consistency over the three disciplines and quick turn around in transition 2!
