The Abingdon Marathon 2014 saw two Dursley Runners, Kate Browning and Mouse Clutterbuck, and supporting Gloucester AC athlete Den Evans on the start line.

Mark Brasier, winner of best newcomer in the 2014 club awards, tested himself over the marathon distance in Amsterdam on Sunday 19 October.

Bournemouth marathon

Shona Darley ran the Bournemouth Marathon on 5 October. Running with a friend who struggled after mile 15, Shona nursed her to the finish line saying afterwards that “it was lovely (to) help someone complete a marathon.”

McLaren Vale half

On the other side of the planet (in Oz) Neil Truelove was running the 8 for the McLaren Vale half marathon. Finishing in 01:42:3, he was “a bit disappointed not to improve on my 3 week old PB set at Bristol but at least I was the first Dursley runner home …” Truelove placed 122nd out of 543 finishers and was 4th in M55-59 category. We confirm that he was, indeed, first Dursley runner.

On Easter Saturday, the flagship race of the weekend took place in Cardiff, the World Half Marathon Championships. Joining Mo Farah on the line were seven Dursley Running Club athletes.
