Amanda Willey ran Weston Athletic’s Hangover 10K as her first ever race. It was an impressive feat on many levels: the run took place on 1 Jan 2015; Amanda hadn’t run that far previously; the course had two nasty hills; and the conditions were windy, Amanda crossed the line in 1:03:44 (203rd). Old-timer Richard Hensman finished in 45:11 (54th)

Dursley runners had another good year on the road the in the Gloucestershire AAAs 2014 Road Race Series. Alice Lewis came first in the V55 category, achieving six first places over the series, including the Bourton Mile Challenge and Humphs Hilly Half. Dave Saunders was pipped to first in the V65 category by Tony Shelbourn of Cirencester AC, who finished the series a mere 7 points ahead.


Victoria Jones was in action on 12 October at the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. Sue had a great day, not only enjoying a fantastic course and achieving 10 km (56:40) and half marathon PBs, but raising £1500 for charity at the same time.

The Winter Horton Bull Run saw Alice Lewis returning to form, placing first FV55.

Two Dursley runners ventured over to Majorca to compete in the island’s 10K and the half marathon. Sue Davies completed the 10k race in 01:11:33 and Ian Davies completed the half marathon in 02:16:16.
