August saw Dursley runners out about on the road and trails, with some excellent results and and particularly good turn out at the Severn AC fitness run.

This popular race organsed by Stroud and District AC had 443 runners taking part in this year around Frampton-on-Severn. It was won by Steven McGuigan in 32.40 just 4 seconds ahead of Dursley’s Gary Hughes who was 2nd in 32.44. Kevin Jackson was 39th in 38.53. John Burt was really pleased with his run finishing in 53rd place in 39.34, John Delafield 137th in 44.57, David Saunders 154th in 46.07, Andy Kilby 159th in 46.18, Mel Williams 215th in 49.09, Emma Woodward 398th in 101.41, Moira Woodward 411th in 1.03.04.
Garry Hughes showed a clean pair of heels to win the Arboretum in 32:45 almost a minute ahead of second place Chris Illman from Cirencester AC.  Tony Wooldridge again showed how his winter walking has paid of with an impressive 39:31 in 27th place and second MV50, Kevin Jackson came in 28 seconds later in 32nd place( 21st MV40).

Dursley Runners were out and about in July with some of the club initiating themselves in the joys of racing whilst a number of veterans showed there life in the old legs yet. Reports on Bourton Hilly Half, Fitness run  and other races in July follow...
