Severn AC Easter 10K 2010

Who said romance was dead! Wind and rain did not prevent Fred and Avril Yearsley sharing the "spoils" as they crossed the line hand in hand at the Severn AC Easter 10K at Sandhurst.

March has already seen quite a bit of activity with Hogweed Hilly Half and the Weston Prom attracting entries from club members


Hogweed Hilly half.

A very tough half marathon course had 3 Dursley runners competing Nick Langridge was first home in 52 place in 01:36:49  Ray Williams 108th in 01:47:38 and Mel Williams 161 in 01:55:16 . There were266 finishers


Weston Prom Run.

A 5 mile evening race with two Dursley runners amongst the  170  taking   part. Both had excellent runs, Chris Gaze finishing in 14th place  in  0:29:45 and Tim George 37th in 0:32:21 and first v60.


Reading  half  marathon.

Neil Parry had another good run finishing well up amongst over 12000 runners in 370th place in 01:26:53



  Sunday the 24th saw runners travel from far and wide to the High Bridge Jewellers Bourton 10K in search of a PB.

Gloucester 20 attracted 6 Dursley Runners keen to get in the miles, some obviously just for the hell of it, others in their preparation for London.

Chris Gaze 10th in 29.59 stauing under the 30 Minute mark despite a strong headwind at the finish

Tony Freer 45th in 33.10 oputting him in good standing for a sub 40 at Berkeley

Chris Gaze 14th in 29.45 sub six after consistent performances over the winter

Chris Gaze continued his good form at Weston with a 19th place on  00:30:01 his best time for this series, just outside the magical sub 6 minute miling pace.

December 2009

A new course and icy cold winds greeted starters the 182 finishers of the very cold Weston Prom Run on Thursday 17 December 2009. 182 finished the new course with Julian Emery of Clevedon AC winning in 26:36 with David Green of Bristol University just one second behind. Dursley was represented by four runners. Chris Gaze continued his solid form in 2009 and Tim George translated his Tuesday night form into a good run after some time away from racing and was first male V60 by almost 2 minutes.

Kevin Jackson also made the Journey in September no doubt as part of his Oldbury and Stroud preparation! Finishing in 31:22 Jeremy Evered making the third Dursley runner that night, coming in on 40.07 (168th)
