Cross Training


Just to let everyone know that there are a range of fitness activities around. We have been given some info from Sam Cairns who runs a combat class and body blast (leaflets available at club otherwise facebook address is There are lots of activities available locally both local gyms and at Dursley Pool and Sports Centre. For the triathletes the latter offers swim fitness session, spin classes and kettle bell for those who want a strong core. The Courtyard Clinic (a club sponsor) does quite a bit of pilates and yoga, tends to be v. popular. If you new to running then a gentle walk can be a good way to help the legs recover! Club members also do different stuff – fairly regular bike rides (Dave Durden, Mark Waller, Tony Freer contacts)  over the weekends and in the summer in the evenings, some swim open water at South Cerney (Jerry Fowler, Rob Woodward).
