Dursley Running Club brings you the Dursley Peaks Challenge, on Weds 1 June.

ITS HERE  THE 2015 DOZEN ......

The fog is gradually lifting on a cold day in Dursley to reveal one of the best off road courses around

Start time 10.30am

A challenging 12 mile multi terrain course around the beautiful Dursley hills

Information for runners is here

Now full – no further entries

Please give yourself plenty of time to get to Race HQ to pick up your number and chip

Going: is now pretty complex! Some elements of course very slippy over hard ground, other areas have crusty, semi frozen mud, and some very runnable sections over leave mould. Low temperatures forecast for tomorrow. Also the course changes significantly once a couple of hundred runners have been through! Course will be well marked and marshalled, the roping of the precipice ropes has also been suitably improved this year   ENJOY.....

Most importantly the cakes are ready for for the finishers, and maybe the odd starter

Events listed are either local or have Dursley Runners planning to take part.

There are also a number of series and leagues running through the year. These are good events to meet familiar faces, gauge progress and sometimes even have a beer afterwards: Gwent and Gloucester XC leagues, Weston Prom Series, Pilot Fitness 5 Miler and Severn AC's White Horse 5K.

Not all dates are available but the list will be updated regularly. If you want to add events, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Eye Eye, what’s Emma up to ...?

Speedy Dursley runner Emma Denton is running the London Marathon dressed as an eye. She’s aiming to be the fastest woman to run a marathon dressed as a human organ. But she’s not just in it for the ocular glory. She’s also raising money for RP Fighting Blindness, a charity dedicated to stimulating and supporting high-quality medical research, with the aim of increasing scientific understanding of retinitis pigmentosa and related eye conditions that lead to a gradual progressive reduction in vision.

Dave Wood has kindly provided a list of up and coming multi terrain races for those you like hills, mud, stinging nettles and beautiful views of the country side.

Most will accept entry on the day (EOD), although the Sodbury Slog is always full months in advance.

These races vary from a mild/moderate outing, such as the "Devils Chimney Chase" to a very hard outing the "Major Muggle" or the "Mendip Muddle" which is a fell race and classed as a category C (easiest) in the long section. Times in brackets are race start times, but I suggest anyone wanting to do any of these check the organising clubs website for fuller details.
