Here is the latest update on the DRC Grand Prix. It includes results from the Standish Woodland Chase and the Severn Bridge Half Marathon. I’ve also adjusted previous results from late entries Nigel Sankey and Caroline Jones where necessary.
Firstly, having secured the maximum 120 points from 8 races covering all the different categories, congratulations to Tony Woolridge who becomes the first ever mens winner of the Dursley Running Club Grand Prix!
Dave Durden is tightening his grip on 2nd place but still needs to complete another 2 races to qualify while Jonathan Tudor remains in 3rd place despite losing a few points to Nigel from previous races. Meanwhile Kevin Jackson has picked up some big late points to surge up the table, it’s a bit too late for him to qualify this year but perhaps one to watch for next year?
In the women’s league, Eileen Hieron and Margaret Johnson both picked up another 15 points each at the Severn Bridge Half and Standish respectively. Both need just one more result to qualify for the prizes, Margaret needing to run the Forest of Dean Autumn Half to meet all the criteria. Sitting in a strong 4th place and having already met all the qualifying criteria is Shona Darley, meaning the pressure is on the others to tick off those final boxes.
Next update will be after the Meteor Mile on Saturday when Mike also aims to catch up with marathons too.
